SCENE 1. INT. EVENING. TOMMY WILSONS BEDROOM.

The camera slowly pans around a small, dingy room showing the environment that Tommy Wilson lives in. Whilst panning, the camera focuses on several newspaper clippings scattered on the bed. These newspaper clippings all contain pictures and stories about the deaths of women that are all related by a single locket. The camera then stops, on a photograph of a middle aged woman in a rusty, old frame. The camera gradually zooms into the picture focusing on the locket that the woman is wearing around her neck. Tommy Wilson reaches out to the photo but only his hand is shown.

Throughout the scene the nursery rhyme Lucy Locket is playing in the background. (Non Diegetic)

SCENE 2. INT. DAYTIME. HOUSE.

(Flashback) A low angle shot from underneath a table is used, looking up at Tommy's mum and the murderer arguing indoors.

TOMMY'S MUM - what are you doing here? GET OUT!

A low angle shot shows a struggle between Tommy's mum and the murderer as the murderer attacks her.

TOMMY'S MUM - (screams) AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Quick flashes of low angle shots then continue to show the murderer gaining power over Tommy's mum.

The murderer reaches for the nearest heavy object striking it towards Tommy's Mum's head causing her to collapse to the floor. The murderer then pulls the locket from around Tommy's Mum's neck and walks back out of the door.

(The murderer leaves the scene)
The camera then moves towards the body showing that Tommy is getting closer to his mother.

TOMMY WILSON - (crying/sniffling)

A tear drop falls as Tommy Wilson places his hand on his mother.
(This shot then flashes back to the same setting as the first scene, and Tommy still as his hand on the picture of his mother)

Throughout this scene eerie music is playing in the background.

SCENE 3. INT. EVENING. TOMMY WILSONS BEDROOM.

TOMMY WILSON - don't worry mummy, we'll find it.

END OF SCENE.

This is our production logo, we chose to include the first letter of all our names to show we are all a part of our company and to show we are all contributing towards our film. We also decide on different colours and fonts to show all our different personalities and also to make it look different and stand out. we will use this at the beginning of our film to show who we are.

From our questionnaire these are the answers that we were given from a variety of different people. Although we didn't get some of the answers we hoped for, for example: the genre of the film, this made us even more determined to make our film successful and create the right impression for the audience. Overall most of the feedback we were given was very positive and made us confident with the story line of our film.

Location 2; Courtneys house for our flashback scene

This is the table that we will be sitting under to film the scene from Tommy Wilsons point of view.

This is the view from underneath the table where we will be filming so we can see the full bodys of the fight scene.

This is our second location where we ill be filming the flash back scene of Mrs Wilsons death. We have taken under the table views of the room because that is where we will be filming from under so we can see the fight scene more clearly. We are filming it from Tommy Wilsons point of view as a child so he will look like he is hiding from the fight under the table. This room is the perfect size for our second scene and is easy to work with to make our scene look more effective.

This is our finished version of the lucy locket song, we sent it to our friend in the music department to make it sound creepy.
We think that this is the perfect song now it is finished for our film as it refelcts both sides of Tommy Wilsons personality.
The children singing in the song represent Tommy Wilsons childhood and how happy he was when he was young, however the deeper voice in the backgroud of the song represents Tommys Wilsons mind after his mothers death and how its spiralling down hill. We think that the deeper voice represents the devilish side of him, his murderous side whereas the childrens voices show his angelic child like state. We will use this song as a non diegetic sound throughout the first scene of our film to show the relevance of the locket as it is the main focus of our film. We hope by using this song the audience will be able to understand the storyline of our film in more depth.

We found this video of children singing the nursery rhyme lucy locket on youtube. For our film we wanted children singing this song in the background of our first scene to add an eerie effect to the film. This version is perfect for our film but we would like to change the speed of the song to make it slower so that it fits the whole of our first scene, we would also like to change the pitch of the song to make it fit with the creepy atmosphere we want to create in our film. We would also be cutting out the beggining and ending of the clip so that we just have the song.
We will be changing the song ourselves to try to create the illusion we are aiming for but if we are not fuilly staisfied with our efforts then we will send it to our friend in the music department.
We have choosen to use this audio clip because the refference to the locket fits in with the theme throughout our film. We also chose to have children singing it because we thought that it would illistrate Tommy Wilsons childhood state and the things he went through.

The genre of our film is Mystery Thriller; in order to develop new ideas and to understand this genre in depth we looked into different film trailers that related back to our own film and was of the same genre. An example of this is the film trailer above, Insomnia. This film is a mystery thriller that is about a detective that is investigating the murder of a teenage girl, however comes across problems of his own and eventually becomes unhinged. This film relates back to our own film Lost Obsession in several ways: The genre of both this film and our own is the same because both films consist of a mystery that is trying to be solved as well as twists and turns to shock the audience. They both fit this genre perfectly as both the mystery and thriller is balanced out to make the audience feel scared as well as interested and intreaged to find out the outcome.
Both films also focus on one main character that starts of as a good citizen but slowly turns into the opposite. In the film Insomnia, the main character is a detective who is trying to solve the murder of a teenage girl. At the beggining of this film he his a nice, genuine man that is just simply doing his job by trying to find/punish all the people that commit crimes. However as the stress kicks in, he 'accidently' kills his partner and lies to the police to cover up his tracks. From this point in the film things start to go down hill for the character as more innocent people are getting hurt because of the problems that the detective is causing. He eventually goes crazy because of the lack of sleep he his getting and the guilt that his taking over him and ends up becoming one of the bad people that he started off trying to find. This character is very similar to the main character in our film Tommy Wilson; the reason for this is because Tommy is a kind, down to earth boy who is simply trying to find out who murdered his mother and took her locket. Although, he also 'accidently' kills another person whilst trying to do this, which leads onto more murders as he gets tangled up in his own mess. Tommy gradually goes into a mental state (just like the detective in Insomnia) and ends up becoming a murderer himself instead of the victim.
Both of these films also concentrate on one issue that creates smaller problems throughout the film. For example, the film Insomnia is about the investigation of a teenagers death. However within this investigation more problems are caused, such as the death of the detectives partner and many more. In addition to this in our film Lost Obsession, the main issue that we want the audience to focus on his who murdered Tommy Wilsons mum and stole her locket. Although throughout this investigation more murders occur and twists and turns are revealed.
By looking into this film Insomnia we have gotten more ideas for our own film and found new ways of filming which we can use when making the first 2 minutes of our film. It as also helped us to understand the genre better than we did before and helped us to realise how we can portray this when filming.

For our film we researched fake fight scenes to give us help in our second scene where the mum and the dad have an argument that turns into a fight. By researching different videos and techniques we were able to find out what fights look effective for example the video we have uploaded and the fight scenes that could go wrong. This is the most believable fight scene we found and prefer this simple fight with no weapons and complications. It is easier to film a simple fight scene because we dont have to have excellent actors to do it.

This video is not effective or believeable with the weapons because you can tell they are not really being hurt and are faking it whereas a simple fight scene can be easier to practice and the falling over can be practised to look more real.
We would also have to have fake weapons like this video and we dont believe the weapons would look real enough to be believed by our audience.
Simple fight scenes are more realistic than scenes that have violent weapons such as knives and guns because it is harder to act being stabbed or shot and making it look effective and convincing. To do a fight scen involving guns or knives we would have to have professional actors to make it look convincing which we do not have.
Location 1; TV studio in barnsley college for our first scene

This is the location we will be using to film our first scene; Tommy Wilsons bedroom, we have decided to use the tv studio in barnsley college for this room. This is our first initial idea of what we would like Tommys bedroom to look like and how we like him to be positioned when we are filming the scene. We would like to expand on this idea by adding posters to the wall so the wall doesn't look too white, we wold also like our 'bed' to be rose a little bit higher so it looks more realistic, we would also like to have a bedside table with a lamp on it to show where the light in the room will be coming from. There will also be our newspaper cuttings on the floor at the side of the bed.

This is the over the shoulder shot that we will be using to show Tommy holding a picture of his mother with the locket on.

This is the shot we would use to show that Tommy is in the room after we have panned around his room we will get to this shot.

We researched into lots of different distribution companys to find which one we would prefer for our film.

Artificial eye independant film distributers:

This distribution company has mostly distributed films that are of the mystery genre which is similar to our film in genre so we think this distribution company would be fond of our film as it is similar to most of the films they have distributed in the past. They have produced films such as The Woman In Fifth, this film has the same mystery genre in it as our film does. Other genres that this comapany has distributers are horror and thriller, which is also similar to our fil with the thriller genre.

High fliers independant film distributers:

This distribution company would be a good company to choose as the films that they distribute are mostly thrillers and horrors. This company has distributed films such as The Whistleblower, Trapped and Welcome To Rileys. All of which films have thriller in their genre. This company have also produced a lot of comedy films more than thrillers.

Momentum pictures independant film distributers:

Momentum pictures distribution company could be considered as a distribution company for our film as they have distributed a few thriller films such as The Woman In Black and Vanishing. But this company has distributed more action and comedy films than thrillers or mysterys, where as we would prefer a company that has distributed films that are similar to our own.

Studio canal independant film distributers:

Studio canal distributers would also be up for consideration as this company is familiar with distributing thrillers and mysterys such as Mirror Mirror, Beyond and Kill List. This company has mostly distributed these genre films and has very few of different genres. This would be a big positive when considering our distribution company as they have experience with our type of genre film.

Content independant film distributers:

This distribution company does a range of different films which is good as they have experience with lots of different films. They mostly distribute drama films but have done quite a few thrillers such as Suspention Of Disbelief, Nothing To Fear and The Pact. This could be a good company to distribute our film.

We narrowed it down to two distribution companys which we would prefer and that was Artificial Eye distributers and Studio Canal distributers. Both of these distribution companys major in the thriller or mystery genre so they have lots of experience with our kind of films. Although Studio Canal distributers also does a few of other genres, whereas Artifical Eye does thriller or mysterys and not any of another genre.
That is why we have decided the distribution company we would prefer would be Artificil Eye independent film distributers. This is because they are used to distributing our genre of film. This would be the company we could relate to the most as the other companys do lots of other genre films aswell, where as Artificial Eye distributers specifies in the thriller or mystery genre. Therefore it is the perfect distribution company.
Newspaper clippings:
I made some newpaper covers on microsoft powerpoint to use in our films as props. We chose to have a pile of newspapers in our scene with headlines explaining the other murders have occured to give our audience an incite into the rest of our film. By showing these newspapers in the scene when where in Tommy Wilsons bedroom, will make the audience wonder why Tommy would ave kept all these magazines and hopefully making them think that he has killed these women.

This is a draft of what the newspapers would look like. Instead we will replace the picture of the silloette with pictures of women to show which women have been murdered, but we have not yet taken any pictures to go onto the newspapers. This newspaper explains the first women who has been murdered, although the audience wouldnt be able to read the whole story on the front of the newspaper we think that it is clear what is going on from the headlines which they will see clearly in our film.

I made two more newspaper covers as drafts explaining a second and third murder. However a couple more newspaper covers will have to be made as in our film Tommy Wilson is shown to have already killed at least 6 women therefore we would need at least a pile of six newspapers showing different headlines.

These newspapers will also have pictures of different women on the front representing women who Tommy Wilson has killed.
I have only made the front of the newspaper because we can stick this front cover on to the front of a real newspaper to make it look thicker and more like a real newspaper.
By showing all these different newspapers we hope to acheive the effect of the thriller genre that we have choosen to make our film seem more suprising.
